What Squarespace's AI builder does
You describe your business, and the AI builder drafts pages with starter copy, images, colors, and fonts. You can try it during a free trial, but you need a paid plan to publish.
From there, the site is yours to finish. You edit the copy, swap the images, and keep it all current. The AI only knows what you told it, so the details that win jobs are up to you.
Squarespace or a web designer?
Squarespace is a good fit if you like design and have time to build. Its templates look sharp, and the editor is easy to learn.
Hiring a designer means someone else does the work, but it often starts with a custom quote. We sit in between: a set scope, one flat price, and a set launch date.
What happens if you want to leave
Squarespace's export makes a WordPress file with some of your content. Its help center says style settings, custom CSS, and several page types don't export.
A domain registered through Squarespace stays yours if you cancel, and you can transfer it. With us, the domain is registered in your name and you get your site files at launch. No export fee.

Questions
Is Squarespace worth it for a small business?
It can be. The templates are polished, and the AI builder gives you a fast start. You still write, edit, and maintain the site. If you don't have time for that, the plan fee is the smaller cost.
Does Squarespace's AI website builder write the copy?
It drafts starter copy from your description. You review and edit it. It only knows what you type in, so your services, service area, and what sets you apart are up to you.
Is Squarespace cheaper than hiring you?
Squarespace plans start at $19 a month billed yearly, or $25 month to month. We charge $497 one time, and that includes the writing and year-one hosting. The bigger difference is who does the work.
Is Squarespace better than hiring a web designer?
Squarespace fits if you want to build the site yourself. A designer fits if you want someone else to do it. We're the done-for-you option with one flat price and a set scope.
Can you move my Squarespace site over?
Squarespace only exports part of a site, and the design doesn't come with it. We build a new site from your intake form. You can send us your current text and photos to work from.
What don't you build?
Online stores, booking engines, customer logins or portals, and ongoing SEO campaigns. If you need those, Squarespace may be the better fit.
